"High School Graduation Reunion"
FREE SONG: "High School Graduation Reunion"
"High School Graduation Reunion" was written by The Hippy Coyote in Las Vegas. He recorded a really noisy version of the song in his guest house garage. With his 1984 Tobacco Sunburst Fender Stratocaster plugged into his 1978 Marshall Mk II 50-watt amplifer, Coyote sung a rough version of this song so that he wouldn't forget it.
"I'd like to perform this song at my 40-year high school reunion of Patrick Henry in September," says Richard Del Connor, The Hippy Coyote.

- - Odyssey of American Zen:
Adventures of the Kung Fu Cowboy - -
Coyote is a San Diego Rhino Stagehand
San Diego has embraced Coyote as a Rhino Stagehand. "Thank you Rhino!" shouts Coyote.
During his months of work with the Las Vegas Rhino Staging operation, clients came to know Coyote, not as The Hippy Coyote, but as, "The Kung Fu Cowboy."
"Great handle!" emphasized a Nashville television producer woman at the Las Vegas CMA Country Music Awards show this year.
Other crews from Nashville also kept shouting, "KUNG FU COWBOY!" when Coyote's cowboy hat bounced into view.
"That was when it really started," starts explaining Coyote. "At the CMA Country Awards Show I noticed that the name, "Kung Fu Cowboy," seemed to stick in people's minds better than "Richard Del Connor," or "The Hippy Coyote." I've been using it ever since. In fact, most of my life experiences and updates this year have been at KungFuCowboy.com"
It must be the way that Coyote holds his head up... or the way he walks and bounces as if on a horse... that inspires people to see him as a cowboy-type spirit. This month, while working the "City Fest" his Rhino lead-man, Billy, tried on a really cool looking black cowboy hat in a booth adjacent to the booth the Rhino crew was just completing. "You try it," he said to Coyote, handing it to him. Coyote tried the hat on. "Wow, it looks better on you than me! You should get it!"
Coyote, fianancially broke, hardly able to afford gas to get to work while sleeping on his dad's living room floor... couldn't afford to purchase this hat. He looked up in the mirror angled down at him so he could see himself. It did look good. From bald to Kung Fu Cowboy with the flip or flop of a hat. Coyote really, liked it. "You really think it looks good on me?"
"It looks really good on you," commented his boss.
Coyote addressed the grumpy looking salesman. "How much is it? Really? How much would you sell it to a Rhino for?" He gave the same price again. "Can you give me a discount?" Coyote pleaded.
"You can't afford it? Buy a cheaper hat. Here..." he said grabbing a cheaper hat and announcing its price.
"Thanks," Coyote said handing the black hat sullenly to the salesman and walking back to his Rhino post. But after an hour or two, Coyote couldn't stop thinking about that hat. Like a long lost friend, Coyote thought he really should go back and buy that hat... if it was still there.
So Coyote asked his boss if he could take a break and go buy the hat. His boss Billy smiled and said, "Sure."
"Can we do partial cash and some on my bank card?" Coyote asked the salesman.
When Coyote returned to the booth in his black corporate shoes, black Levi's, black belt, black long-sleeved button down collar Rhino shirt and BLACK HAT he received a big smile from his boss. "That really does look better on you."
"I never thought I'd wear a black hat," says Coyote. "But one of my all-time favorite heros was Palladin of the Have Gun - Will Travel television series and he wore a black cowboy hat. Thanks again Rhino!"

-- BUDDHISM NEWS: The Path of
Buddha --
Buddha Zhen Finds a Place To Teach
Proving again The Hippy Coyote's "Seasons of Fours Theory," we find Buddha Zhen back in the park that he spent his teenage years drinking booze, taking pills and smoking pot at.
"When I was a teenager, this was the place to socialize, meet with friends and party. In 1968, this was the only place to go, espcially back then, with only three television stations to choose from all day long."
So now Buddha Zhen has an opportunity to provide something back to the park he spent his adolescent years in. Now able to provide improved health, improved life-styles, improved mental activity, self-confidence... and artistic inspiration.
"Well," explains Coyote, "in my own way, I'm always looking for inspiration so I did get some there at that park. Especially the Transcendental Meditation Class they offered there one year. I have utilized those meditation techniques of the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi ever since then and teach some of those principles and concepts in all my Kung Fu and Tai Chi classes."
More information next month, as we research this further.

- - RICHARD DEL CONNOR NEWS: Masonic
Kung Fu and Freemasonry - -
Will San Diego Masons Embrace "Masonic Kung Fu?"
"I went and got a few of my suits out of storage," says 3rd Degree Mason, Richard Del Connor. "When I was in Las Vegas, I had one black suit and one black formal. Different lodges have different dress codes, so hopefully I won't overdress so much." Apparently, due to heat or informality of their gatherings, the Las Vegas Mason lodge only required formal attire during a degree, and only by the officers. So Richard was surprised to realize during his first month of meetings in Nevada freemason lodges, that he was usually the only mason dressed up in a formal with bow tie and white pleaded shirt.
Now armed with more suits and a few more ties our Kung Fu Mason will adventure into the various lodges of San Diego to find a group of adults with similar interests he can befriend.
